Solar Panels Compatible With The 5000 Plus
Mixing different models of solar panels is not recommended. When connecting more than two solar panels simultaneously, the Jackery Solar Panel Connector is required. And to maximize the power output of the SolarSaga 340X, please do not connect more than six 85W solar panels in parallel to a single DC8020 input port.

If the E5000 Plus is connected to the Jackery Smart Transfer Switch, the response time in the event of a power failure will be 20 milliseconds due to the Transfer Switch's capabilities.

This is an easy way to increase your energy capacity. This item co sister of a kit and a cable for connecting to your Jackery Explorer 5000. The cable is designed such thst it is impossible to plug it in the wrong was. O ce connected to the jackery, it just works. When you turn on your jackery, the aux battery does too.

It shows its own power level independent of that of the explorer.

Note that you cannot stack these more than 3 units high. Do not stack them on the Explorer itself.

Okay after firmware update...

I bought this unit with the STS and 500x panels. The panels are nice and the STS seems to work, but the e5000 will drop power repeatedly when you place the whole system on backup mode under light to moderate loads. Putting the system on UPS mode seems to help but then the house lights flicker and the unit drains power drastically as the software cycles between the e5000 and the grid until the battery is dead for some reason. 

I contacted their support, and after two weeks with repeated statements from them that someone from their engineering team will contact me, nothing has happened. If you're looking at this as a comprehensive home backup that can do TOU export like its competitors, I'd be extremely wary. There seems to be several issues and no one available to help assist or trouble shoot. Will likely be pursuing a full refund. 

UPDATE:

About a week after this initial review, jackery pushed a firmware update to my STS and everything seems to be working as intended.

I bought this as a backup power option for power outages. This is an absolute beast of a home battery supply. The Jackery 5000 Plus is a powerful and versatile power station with a 5040Wh capacity and 7200W output, making it perfect for a variety of needs. It offers multiple output options, including AC, DC, and USB ports, and can power appliances like refrigerators and AC for hours. The user-friendly display and app provide real-time data on battery usage and remaining power.
I had an electrician install the smart transfer switch, and I’ve tested it with high-demand devices, and it powered them without issues for up to 15 hours.
